Recap of our free nutritional seminar last night

The night was good but busy for a lot of my clients.  Since a lot of friends and clients missed out, I’m going to do a quick summary of our last night seminar:  “6 Nutritional Facts You Don’t Know That will Help You Lose Weight”

  1. Tap Water can make you fat, especially water containing fluoride because fluoride is a waste by-product of the fertilizer and aluminum industry.  There are no sound scientific studies that show that fluoride improves dental health, in fact, studies have concluded that fluoride can subtly alter endocrine function, especially in the thyroid.  So what happens when your thyroid is disrupt?  You guess it right, your weight will fluctuate and in most cases weight is likely to increase instead of reducing it.diet
  2. Eating fat will NOT make you fat.  In fact, consuming the right kind of fats can increase fat loss.  3 Fats you want to increase:  Omega 3 (DHA/EPA), Conjugated Linoleic Acids (CLA) and Medium-chain Triglycerides (MCTs).  Eat food that contains these fats like fish, meat, grass-fed beef and coconut oil.
  3. Eat protein.  Protein improves blood lipid levels, lower raised blood pressure, improves insulin sensitivity (lose fat), elevates metabolic rate and helps control appetite.
  4. Stop eating grains.  Grains contain phytic acid,  an anti-nutrient.  In other words, it inhibits and prevents nutrient absorption.  It contains lectin which blocks your absorption of minerals such as zinc, calcium, magnesium and iron. Lectins have also been shown to induce an inflammatory response which can be the underlying cause of many of the diseases seen today.  Grains have alpha-amylase inhibitors which not only prevents starch absorption but many studies have demonstrated grain as an allergen.   Grains are highly acidic causing changes in ph Balance.  I can provide a lot more facts and information about why grains are bad for you.  A good book to read is “Seeds of Deception” by Jeffrey M. Smith, if you want to learn more.  I have a client off grains completely for 2 weeks and she lost 20 pounds.
  5. Soy is really, really bad for you.  It’s a number one GMO (Genetic Modified Organism) product produced.  It can cause vitamin B12 deficiency, may increase risk of certain cancers, and contains Phytoestrogens that mimic estrogen and can disrupt the endocrine system.  Again, when your endocrine system is disrupt, your hormone levels go out of whack.  Having that said, hormone imbalances will store fat in certain parts of your body.  No matter how much you exercise, you ain’t getting rid off the fat until you address your hormone imbalances.  And it is easily fix through nutrition.
  6. Avoid dairy.  The pasteurization in milk damages the proteins and natural bacteria balance, in other words, all the good or healthy nutrients in milk are being damaged when it goes through pasteurized process.  If you must have milk, drink raw organic milk.  Dairy may cause certain skin conditions (including teenage acne).  It induces a rapid spike in insulin and causes a pro inflammatory response due to a protein found in milk, which both eventually cause an increase in body fat.

Not only are these 6 facts just for weight loss but healthy for everybody.  These are good for anybody who don’t want to ever get sick and reduce the risk of getting cancer.

There are so much more to share.  We will put together another seminar like this one every month and share more information on either nutrition for gaining muscles, more on fat loss, exercises program, or tips to reduce back pain.  Stay tune for the next seminar. However, we are having a 2-day in-depth nutrition seminar in Nov 21 and 22.  This seminar is more for trainers or those who want to learn all about nutrition (in-depth information), how to assess people’s (client’s) nutrient deficiencies, learn about metabolic typing and hormonal modulation.  Anybody interested in the 2-day seminar in Nov, let me know and I’ll give you more information.
