Health tip for the Holidays

I know almost everybody let themselves go during the holidays and eat, eat, and eat.

So what can you do to stay lean without giving up food?

The secret is what you eat, not how much you eat.  You can eat as much healthy food as you want.  You won’t gain weight if you eat lots of meat, vegetables and fruits.  Meat is a great source of protein and it will fill you up faster.  If you love your steak, go ahead and eat as much as you want.

Foods you want to avoid or minimize are grains (bread, rice, noodles, pasta), dairy products (cheese) and sweets (desserts, chocolate, ice cream).   Click here to read more or learn about the reasons for avoiding them.  It was discussed in my earlier blogs.

If you are drinking alcohol, remember to keep hydrated by drinking lots of water.  And make sure they are bottle water and not tap water because of the fluoride content.
